Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) completed accepting student forms for the Class 10 and 12 exams. This year, 14.26 lakh students from across the state submitted forms, 1.13 lakh lower than last year’s 15.39 lakh. This year, 8.90 lakh students filled out forms for the Class 10 exam, while 1.11 lakh registered for Class 12 science exams and 4.25 lakh for Class 12 general stream. The exams are scheduled to begin on Feb 27.
By the end of the regular fee period, 13.75 lakh students had registered. After the deadline, the board started accepting forms in three phases with a late fee. Compared to last year, 27,000 fewer Class 10 students registered. The number for Class 12 science stream was 21,000 less. The most significant decrease has been seen in Class 12 general stream, with 64,000 fewer students compared to last year. tnn
