Two Inter-Ministerial Central Teams of the Central Government are on a four-day visit to Gujarat
Gujarat: Two Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCT) of the Union Government have visited Gujarat for four days for an on-site assessment of damage in Biparjoy cyclone-affected districts. Two of these seven-member teams will visit ‘Biparjoy’ Cyclone-affected Kutch, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar and Banaskantha in person till August 04 to assess the damage.
More than 19.16 lakh population of 443 villages in eight districts affected
Two inter-ministerial central teams of the Union government are on a four-day visit to Gujarat for on-site damage assessment in the districts affected by Cyclone Biparjoy. At that time, the Gujarat government has presented the damage figures in Gujarat due to Biparjoy cyclone before this team. Electricity related services in Gujarat have suffered losses of more than 909 crores. 702 crores has been lost to the road and building department. 72.72 crores has been lost to ports and transport. So a loss of 20 crores has been presented to agriculture. Cyclone Biparjoy affected over 19.16 lakh population of 443 villages in eight districts of Kutch and Saurashtra.
The central government will provide appropriate compensation for the loss
Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue while informing the central team of Biparjoy Cyclone in Gujarat said that, as a result of vigilance of the administration, we have been able to prevent loss of life during the cyclone except property. It is the achievement of the government that, not a single citizen has lost their life by making proper preparations before and after this storm. The central government will provide adequate compensation for the damage caused mainly to roads, electricity, agricultural crops, houses, trees, ports etc. due to Cyclone Biparjoy.
