Ahmedabad: Registrations for the Diploma to Degree Common Entrance Test (DDCET), scheduled for April 19, have ended with around 19,000 students taking the exam this year. Admissions will be for approximately 40,000 seats under the admission committee.
Previously, diploma engineering students were granted direct admission into degree engineering programmes. However, DDCET was introduced last year to ensure a common merit system, as students from more than 18 different boards apply for admission.
According to the admission committee, registrations increased by 1,000 compared to last year’s 18,000. Students will be able to download their admit cards from April 10. The exam will be conducted at district centres based on students’ chosen test locations, with candidates required to choose three preferred cities. TNN
