A preliminary investigation on reaching the scene revealed that no person was trapped inside.

Surat : A two-storied building collapsed in Katargam GIDC in Surat causing chaos. The workers escaped from the embroidery shop running in the building. The fire and municipal fleet rushed to the news of the incident. A video of the building collapsing like a palace of cards has also surfaced. Fortunately, there was no casualty in this incident. Debris removal is currently underway. Sakichand Sahani, who witnessed the incident, said that at first small part of the building was falling. Later the entire building collapsed. There was an embroidery factory in this building. After that all the workers left the building. In two to three seconds, the entire building collapsed. There were 6 people inside who all got out. Everyone came running out.

It may be mentioned that the account manager informed the owner even 2 months ago. The account managers were supposed to vacate the building after Diwali and take the machine to another place. A large building is located in account number 732 in Katargam GIDC. It has ground and two floors. Embroidery accounts are running in this house. The building collapsed around 8 am today. In the morning, the embroidery account was on. However, the workers inside got out. The fire department was then informed. After the fire department was informed, the convoy of Katargam and Kosad fire station rushed to the spot. As no one was in the house when the incident took place, no one was injured. Debris removal is being done by the fire department using equipment including JCB. Mayor of Surat Dakshesh Mavani also rushed to the spot after hearing about the incident.

Lastly, Katargam fire station officer Hitesh Thakor said, Today we got information from fire control that a building has collapsed near Katargam new GIDC Gajera Circle. Hence teams from Katargam and Kosad fire stations arrived with emergency rescue vehicles and equipment. A preliminary investigation on reaching the scene revealed that no person was trapped inside. Debris removal is currently underway.
