Ahmedabad: Yet another murder was reported in the city on Monday when two men fatally attacked their 22-year-old friend following a minor dispute in the Vasna locality. This was the third murder in the city since Jan 1.
Vasna police identified the victim as Jignesh Taragara, a resident of Khodiar Sheri near Someshwar Society in Vasna. Inspector RN Patel said that Taragara was last seen with his friends and the suspects in the case — Sanjay Rabari and Suraj Raval — both approximately 25 years old, on Monday afternoon.
Locals said they heard screams from Taragara and two others and rushed to the spot. There they found Taragara bleeding severely and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Patel explained that one of the suspects restrained Taragara while the other stabbed him in the back.
“However, what exactly happened at the crime scene was only known to the victim and the two accused who are on the run,” said Patel. He further revealed that Taragara, Rabari, and Raval were involved in an attempted murder case, which is still pending in court.
On Jan 12, Kanaiyalal Bhavsar, a 75-year-old NRI from Canada residing in Mohini Tower, Memnagar, was killed allegedly by a couple during a robbery at his flat. On Jan 7, a 33-year-old woman, Krishna Marwadi from Madhavpura, was fatally stabbed allegedly by Kaushik Makwana, who was in a relationship with her. Makwana attacked Marwadi after she rejected his proposal and later he jumped into the Sabarmati river.
