Ahmedabad: A 40-year-old Ranip resident died after his two-wheeler collided with a nilgai in the Gota area of the city on Sunday evening.
Sola high court police have registered a case of accidental death.
According to police sources, Jaimin Patel, 40, a resident of Anmol Residence, was out with his wife and son in the Gota area of the city when the accident occurred near Uma Sharnam Society.
A nilgai suddenly crossed their path, causing Patel’s vehicle to collide with the animal.
Patel, his wife and son fell onto the road and sufferd injuries.
With help from bystanders, Patel was rushed to the ICU of a private hospital, where he died during treatment.
Sola police have registered a case of accidental death and are further investigating the case.
Forest officials said that there are several instances of nilgai sighting, especially in the areas on the borders of the city. In the past, several accidents involving nilgai have been reported on Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar route.
