Rajkot : The Health and Food Department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation is taking continuous action to stop the sale of inedible items. Under which the teams of the food department struck in front of the housing board quarters in Hasanwadi on Bolbala road, in which 500 kg of stale sweet mawa and 50 kg of stale sweets were found in a raid in Tirupati Dairy based on information. Due to which all the goods were seized from the place and destroyed in a tipper van. So a notice was also given for not displaying the label on the goods.

According to the details received, during the surveillance checking of the food department, during the inspection of the ‘Tirupati Dairy Farm’, owned by Virendra Rameshchandra Undkat going directly from the 80 feet road, stale waste sweet mawa stored in the cold storage of the firm. Packed bags were found not to have any details of expiry, use by date or production printed on the estimated quantity of 500 kg. Apart from this, 50 kg of stale sweets were found. So approximately 550 kg of stale waste was destroyed. Also samples of sweet mawa, pistachio roll, plain shikhand, pure ghee have been taken from the firm. The dairy was issued a notice to display the details in the label on the packed food items and to maintain hygienic conditions at the place of the firm.
