6.12L students from Gujarat to appear for Gyan Sadhana Merit scholarship exam on April 12

Ahmedabad: The State Examination Board has rescheduled the Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship exam from March 29 to April 12. Following the online registration process which concluded on March 6, 6.12 lakh students have enrolled for the exam.
Students who have completed their education from Classes 1 to 8 in govt schools, granted schools, or through RTE quota in private institutions qualify for this opportunity. The programme will select 25,000 high-performing students to receive scholarships for their studies from Class 9 through Class 12.
The initiative focuses on supporting academically gifted students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Successful candidates will secure places in govt, granted, or designated self-financed secondary schools to pursue their education.
The assessment consists of multiple-choice questions totalling 120 marks, with a duration of 150 minutes, available in both Gujarati and English. The paper comprises 40 questions on mental ability (40 marks) and 80 questions testing academic aptitude (80 marks).
The exam will take place at 2,553 centres across 22,126 blocks throughout the state. Additionally, the merit list will determine admissions to 74 Adarsh residential schools managed by the tribal development department for Class 9.
