Ahmedabad: During routine patrolling, the sleuths from the detection of crime branch in Ahmedabad seized 67 prohibited e-cigarettes (vape) from a pan shop situated near Pakwan Crossroads.
rime branch sub inspector D J Choradiya filed a complaint in this regard, stating that during patrolling in the early hours of Saturday, they discovered an individual selling vape from a pan shop opposite Atithi Restaurant in the Bodakdev area of the city.
The police inspection led to the recovery of 67 prohibited e-cigarettes from the storeroom. The vape devices had different flavours. The shopkeeper confessed to acquiring these banned items without proper documentation or permits. According to the cops, the vape devices were valued at Rs 1.30 lakh.
The police registered a case against one person under provisions of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes (Production, Manufacture, Import, Export, Transport, Sale, Distribution, Storage, and Advertisement) Act, 2019.
