Surat : Cross-examination of wholesale grain traders in Surat city-district continues. Meanwhile, a notice was issued to the Super King Traders in the Super Palace behind the Kapodra Police Station for finding more than the permitted quantity there. In violation of the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, the system seized the quantity of grain. A trader of Super King Traders found an additional quantity of 72.61 metric tonnes of dal from there. In Surat, the wholesale traders of edible oil, grains and pulses were doing business arbitrarily in violation of the rules and regulations. Some traders dealing in bulk food grains are carrying out commercial activities only in residential areas, but some traders are doing business in an arbitrary manner in gross violation of the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. In the meantime, the system has conducted a cross-examination to catch such traders.

Earlier, after the trader of Zampabazar was arrested, now Super King Traders of Varachha Road was raided there. The trader who came to Super Palace has a food grain licence, but the trade was being carried out in violation of the conditions of the licence. They found 72.61 metric tons of dal grain quantity from permission there. Following which, the system issued a notice to the trader and ordered him to explain within 7 days. On the other hand, instructions have also been given to update the details of grain quantity online every month. Also instructed to comply with the provision of Essential Commodities Act, 1955. It is worth mentioning that the municipality sealed the shops of wholesale grain traders for violating the policy and rules. Out of 250 shops, 30 shops were sealed in a phased manner. These wholesale grain dealers are also grossly violating traffic rules. Then strict action will be taken against such traders in the coming days.
