Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board conducted its annual talent search tTest (TST) for Class 9 students on Thursday. The statewide assessment saw a significant turnout, with the participation of 88,000 students from the total 1.03 lakh registered candidates belonging to 4,116 schools.
The exam was administered across 169 centres, utilising 391 buildings throughout the state.Surat led in participation with 10,723 students from 285 schools, while Ahmedabad city and rural areas contributed 1,178 and 2,722 students respectively.
The comprehensive test was structured in two parts: Paper 1 evaluated students on Gujarati, English, social science and general knowledge, while Paper 2 focused on mathematics, science, and mental ability. Each paper contained 100 questions worth 100 marks, with students given two hours per section.
The online registration process was conducted through the board’s website from Nov 26 to Dec 10, 2024. The examination proceeded smoothly across all centres, marking another successful implementation of the state’s educational assessment programme.
