Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL), the governing body for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) in Ahmedabad, has announced its free travel scheme. Starting Thursday, senior citizens aged 65 and above, individuals with disabilities, and freedom fighters or their widows will be eligible for free travel on BRTS buses, stated a press release from AJL. Previously, this benefit was available only on the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) buses. “Earlier senior citizens above the age of 75 years were eligible. This age limit was reduced. Also shortly, students pass and its renewal will be made avalaible at ward offices,” said a senior AJL official.
