Ahmedabad: The AMC has decided to involve students from school board schools in the disposal of waste plastic in the city. Students of the school board will bring plastic waste to school, where it will be recycled into jackets. These jackets will be given to the students.
Standing committee chairman Devang Dani said, “Students of the Ahmedabad Municipal School board will bring plastic waste generated at home, such as empty plastic bottles or other items, to school. This waste will be recycled and used to make jackets, which will be given to the students who deposit the plastic waste.”
Additionally, a proposal to build sidewalks in Chandkheda was presented to the committee, but the decision was postponed for 21 days. Similarly, the proposal for the sale of plots on the Sabarmati Riverfront was also temporarily deferred, with a decision to be made after 21 days.
