New executive council appointed to universities | Ahmedabad News


Ahmedabad: In an administrative move, the state education department made new appointments to the executive council of Gujarat University, along with two other state universities.
For Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, the state education department appointed four members: Dr Smita Joshi, Hiren Jadhav, Ashish Amin, and Swetal Sutariya.
In a parallel move, Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh, welcomed four new members to its executive council. The appointees include Dr Jaykumar Trivedi, Rajesh Vadodariya, Prof Dinesh Dadhaniya, and Deena Lodhiya.
Additionally, Saurashtra University’s executive council was strengthened with the appointment of Dr Gauravi Dhruv, Dr Nilesh Trivedi, Dr Surbhi Dave, and Deepak Vaghasiya. The appointments were made under Section 16(ix) of the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023.
All appointees will serve for a tenure of two and a half years or until they reach the age of 62, whichever comes first, as per section 8(2) of the Act. They will serve on the council for a period of 2.5 years or until they reach the age of 62 years, as stipulated under the rules, whichever comes first.
