Bihar governor visits Vidyapith on Gandhi’s death anniversary | Ahmedabad News


Ahmedabad: Gujarat Vidyapith observed Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary with a tribute ceremony at Morarji Desai Hall on Thursday. Bihar governor Arif Mohammad Khan graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The ceremony commenced with traditional Gandhian elements, featuring students and volunteers in white khadi attire. Vice-Chancellor Harshad Patel welcomed Khan with a khadi thread and commended his commitment to truth over popular opinion.Former Gujarat education minister and Vidyapith trustee Bhupendrasinh Chudasama emphasised the timeless relevance of Gandhian philosophy both nationally and globally.
At precisely 11am, attendees observed two minutes of silence in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi.
In his address, Khan likened Vidyapith to a national pilgrimage site and praised Gandhi’s global influence through principles of truth and non-violence. He highlighted Gandhi’s role as a moral leader whose ideas inspired international figures like Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and Barack Obama, while emphasising liberation as a cornerstone of Indian culture.
