Planning of 3D mapping for security agencies to work easily

To commence with, the city police has done important work in the matter of security by preparing a 3D mapping of the 22km long route of the Rath Yatra. As part of the preparations for Jagannathji’s Rath Yatra on June 20, the police have started vehicle checking, alcohol and weapon drives and have started checking everywhere.

However, even the sensitive areas of the city, the police have set up a watch and started contacting the locals. The police have started drone surveillance on the Rath Yatra route and suspicious movements and activities are being monitored.

Apart from this, for the first time in the history of the Rath Yatra, 3D mapping technology will be used by the police for security operations. Due to this technology, the police will be able to easily see the changes on the entire route of the Rath Yatra, due to which the police will be able to remove obstacles, dangerous buildings or illegal constructions on the route of the Rath Yatra in advance.

Also, officials will easily get the information about which road has become narrow, which road has been widened and how many houses have increased on the Rath Yatra route with the help of technology.

Although, a 3D mapping of the Rath Yatra route has been prepared with the help of students from Ahmedabad Cyber Cell and Ananta University. Cyber Cell DCP Ajit Rajiyan said, 3D mapping technology will be beneficial to the city police in the security operations of Rath Yatra in many ways.

Finally, officials said that, due to 3D mapping technology, the police will be able to get the exact figure of the number of people present in the Rath Yatra apart from the police officers and army present.

The specific details of the number of people visiting the temple, the number of officials etc. and the officials coming to the Rath Yatra arrangement from outside will be able to easily understand the Rath Yatra information due to technology.
