Surat : A Kanpur broker had borrowed sarees from 11 of his parties from a saree trader of Ring Road Millennium Textile Market in Surat and threatened them instead of paying the outstanding payment of Rs.49.90 lakh. According to information received from police sources, 32-year-old Pankaj is trading sarees in the name of Vihar NX at Ring Road Millennium Textile Market. Last March 2021, Chandraprakash Shukla, who was working as a cloth broker in the name of Shree Balaji Agency at Kanpur, came to his shop and said that, I have many parties in Kanpur and will pay you on time. Those parties trusted Pankaj Dalal Chandraprakash Shukla to make timely payments.
Hence, after talking to the other parties on the phone, he also sent them a quantity of sarees. Pankaj, from 13 March 2021 to 24 May 2022, Shree Shyam Textile, Pranjul Fabrics, Vaishnavi Sarees, Radharani Creations, SK Enterprises, Kamaljit Company, Batra Sarees, Anjani Sari Center sent a saree worth Rs.53,11,429 to Nitin Kumar Gupta of Vishal Sari Center through Chandraprakash Shukla. Out of this, he received a payment of Rs.3,21,153 only.
Pankaj called brokers and traders for the outstanding payment of Rs.49,90,266, all of whom initially made promises and later made excuses. He sent a notice to them as everyone stopped answering the phone, the angry broker Chandraprakash Shukla threatened that you have not done well, what about money and talk? Neither I nor any of my party will make the payment, do whatever it takes. Pankaj applied to the police regarding this. Based on this, the Salabatpura police registered a complaint of fraud against the broker and 11 traders yesterday and conducted further investigation.
