Ahmedabad: On the eve of World Health Day, a city-based organisation launched an AI-based tool for cardiologists. Naman Gosalia, the founder of the initiative, and Dr V N Shah, senior endocrinologist with Zydus Hospital, said that it is designed from Indian parameters and works for both primary and secondary prevention.
They said that based on patient data ranging from ECG to lipid profile and BMI, the AI-driven insights suggest specific tests, investigations, or courses of treatment. Dr Sunil Thanvi, head of cardiology at Zydus Hospital, said that AI is now part of several health systems and provides nudges on issues which are sometimes overlooked.
“While the final decision is still with the clinician, such tools come in handy to assess the same case from multiple angles and decide the best course of action for the patient,” he said.
