Ahmedabad: After the All India Congress recently concluded its two-day national meet in Ahmedabad, the party on Saturday announced approximately 250 national and Gujarat-based leaders for the selection of new district presidents.
Shaktisinh Gohil, Gujarat Congress president in a statement said, “The All India Congress Committee announced the formation of a committee to empower districts, deciding to launch the pilot project of its implementation from Gujarat, and released the initial list of observers, which is most gratifying. Rahulji will be present in Gujarat on April 15 and 16. Today, the names of four observers for each district of the GPCC have been announced. Highly distinguished leaders from outside will visit each district in Gujarat. Subsequently, a panel of five individuals will visit each district headquarters and engage in dialogue with workers regarding district empowerment.”
The AICC has established the following criteria for appointments as in-charge from the Pradesh Congress:
Criteria:
1. Members of the PAC Committee
2. MLAs and Ex-MLAs
3. MPs and Ex-MPs
4. Former presidents of district/municipal corporations from Congress
5. Current leaders of Congress in district panchayats and municipal corporations
6. Heads of GPCC frontal and SC, ST, OBC, and minority departments
7. Former leaders of the Congress party in district panchayats and municipal corporations
