Ahmedabad: An uproar was created by the NSUI at the Samaras Boys Hostel on the campus of Gujarat University. The NSUI workers went to this hostel and staged a ruckus with slogans of ‘Justice’. An uproar was created by the NSUI alleging that, the students staying in the hostel were not getting the facilities of food, drinking water and electricity. After this uproar, the system was successfully woken up and instructions were given to provide immediate facilities.
Government Samaras Hostel is located in Gujarat University campus. 400 students live in Boys Hostel. The food provided to the students staying in this hostel is not of good quality. Apart from this, the hostel bathroom has a tap, but no water. It has been alleged that, the hostel rooms do not have fans. It means, the college is not providing basic facilities like water, food etc. Students cannot complain to head office as they have a fear of cancellation admission.
Regarding this, NSUI leader said that, students complain about food, drinking water and electricity many times, but no action has been taken. The officer who is here should be replaced by another officer so that the students get convenience. Understanding welfare officer said, since I came, the facilities of the students have been improved, still the problems faced by the students will be solved.
