Ahmedabad: Ahead of the new academic session, a representation was made to the chief minister to ensure the timely appointment of teaching assistants (gyan sahayaks) in grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools across Gujarat. The request was submitted by a former education board member and the Akhil Gujarat Rajya Shala Sanchalak Mandal, citing that several teaching posts are vacant due to retirements and transfers effective from May 31.
