Gandhinagar: The BJP on Thursday named 21 new district presidents and also appointed city presidents in three municipal corporations out of the total 17. Sources in the state BJP indicated that the party has tried to strike a balance between local caste community dynamics and regional leadership. The party is expected to announce the remaining district and city office-bearers after Holi.
National BJP senior leader and Union minister Bhupender Yadav, appointed as the election observer for selecting the new state party president, is expected to visit Kamalam, the state party headquarters, after March 15 to announce the successor to outgoing president C R Paatil. tnn
