JAMMU: In its endeavour to enhance the overall pilgrimage experience, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) on Sunday, the first day of Chaitra Navaratra, launched a range of new facilities to provide a seamless and spiritual experience for thousands of devotees visiting the holy shrine.
The spokesperson of the Shrine Board said: “Under the guidance and directions of the chairman, Manoj Sinha (lieutenant governor of J&K), the Board aims to elevate the overall pilgrimage experience. The Shrine Board has transformed the Bhawan (sanctum sanctorum) beautifully, along with the Atka and surrounding areas. The grand decorations feature an exquisite blend of indigenous and foreign fruits, flowers, majestic reception doors, and elegantly designed track. The Bhawan area has been illuminated with stunning colorful facade lights, creating a mesmerizing ambiance for devotees.”
“Anshul Garg, the CEO of the Shrine Board along with senior officials attended the commencement of 9-day-long Shatchandi Yagya being organized for peace, prosperity and well-being of humanity during ‘Navaratra’ at the holy cave shrine,” he said.
The novel initiatives include smart lockers, free public call booths, and complimentary slots for people with disabilities to participate in Garbjoon Arti at Adhkuwari and Atka Arti at the Bhawan.
Also, dedicated quotas for helicopter bookings and complimentary battery car services have been provided for pilgrims with disabilities.
As part of the Navaratra celebrations, Shrine Board has also lined up captivating Bhajan and Bhaint performances by acclaimed artists during morning and evening Atka artis, the spokesperson added.
