Chandkheda man blames ex-wife, her mother for suicide in video | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: A woman, her mother, and her friend were charged on Tuesday for abetting the suicide of her 39-year-old ex-husband, who hanged himself at his residence in Chandkheda on Dec 10 last year.
The action was taken based on a video recorded by the deceased, Tejas Parmar, before ending his life. In the video, Tejas accused his ex-wife, her friend, and her mother of driving him to take his life, the police said.
The video was presented to the police by Tejas’s father, Hargovind Parmar (64), a resident of Akashganga Society on IOC Road, while lodging a complaint against his son’s ex-wife and others at the Chandkheda police station.
According to the police FIR, Tejas was employed with a private firm. The couple got married 10 years ago, and have a nine-year-old son. They developed marital problems, which culminated in their divorce in July last year.
Hargovind stated that Tejas asked his former wife to attend a family wedding function on Dec 5, and she stayed at his residence for about five days. On Dec 10, while the family attended the wedding in the Meghaninagar area of the city, Tejas stayed behind at his Chandkheda home.
Upon returning late on Dec 10, the family found Tejas hanging in his bedroom. Subsequently, Hargovind found a video recording on Tejas’s mobile phone.
Based on Hargovind’s complaint, Chandkheda police registered an FIR for abetment to suicide against Tejas’s ex-wife, her mother and her friend.
