City records 41.5°C, highest in Guj | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: Temperature fluctuations continued as the maximum on Tuesday reached 41.5 degrees celsius, making Ahmedabad the hottest in Gujarat. It was followed by Surendranagar at 40.8 degrees and Rajkot at 40.7 degrees. In all, eight cities and towns, including Gandhinagar and Vadodara, recorded temperatures above 40 degrees. Ahmedabad’s maximum of 41.5 degrees was 4.3 degrees above normal, whereas the minimum temperature at 22.1 degrees was 1 degree above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday could be around 40 degrees and 21 degrees, respectively.
The forecast indicates a fall in maximum and minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees celsius during the next three days. Thereafter, a rise by 2-3 degrees celsius is very likely over the region, it says. On Tuesday, a yellow alert was issued for Anand district.
