CM inaugurates new oxygen park in South Bopal


Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday inaugurated an oxygen park in the South Bopal area of Ahmedabad. He also participated in tree plantation at the park during the programme organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Developed by AMC under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the park spans a 1,900 sq m area and will have amenities such as gazebos, walking tracks, and diverse flowering plants. Trees and plants such as white frangipani, coconut palm, jasmine, bullet wood, bael, golden shower, neem, almond, teak, flame of the forest, and pink roses were planted, an official statement said.
As part of the Mission Million Trees campaign, AMC planted 75 lakh trees over the past five years, the statement added.
So far, the AMC developed 319 oxygen parks across various zones of Ahmedabad city, including four in the Central Zone, 84 in the Eastern Zone, 59 in the Northwestern Zone, 36 in the Northern Zone, 68 in the Southwestern Zone, 29 in the Southern Zone, and 43 in the Western Zone. Additionally, Ahmedabad has 303 gardens in various zones, the statement added.
