Ahmedabad: To mark World Navkar Mahamantra Day, chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday unveiled a specially designed philatelic cover, at an event held at the GMDC ground.
The release was organised by the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) in collaboration with the Department of Posts, Govt of India. Krishna Kumar Yadav, postmaster general of the North Gujarat Region, presented the first copy of the commemorative cover to the chief minister.
This cover was made unique by including a postage stamp based on the theme ‘2800th Nirvan Kalyanak of Lord Parshvanath’. At the event, over 25,000 participants together chanted the Navkar Mantra between 8,01am and 9.36am. Minister of state for home, Harsh Sanghavi, also participated in the event virtually. Sudhir Mehta, chairman of the Torrent Group; Rishabh Patel, president of JITO-Ahmedabad, and Jain community leaders were present.tnn
