In celebration of the festival, a controversy has arisen among the BJP members of the Education Committee wearing shoes and slippers in front of the statue of goddess Saraswati

Surat: During the Teacher’s Day celebrations in Surat, officials and members of the Municipal Primary Education Committee were insulted by standing in front of Saraswati’s statue with shoes and slippers. In celebration of the festival, a controversy has arisen among the BJP members of the Education Committee wearing boots and slippers in front of the statue of goddess Saraswati and the picture of the former President. Today, the Surat Municipal Corporation-run City Primary Education Committee organized a program to celebrate Teacher’s Day at Rustampura Community Hall. In this special program retired teachers were honored along with distinguished achievers. A statue of goddess Saraswati, Goddess of Maha Vidhya, and a picture of Doctor Sarvapalli Radhakrishna were kept in the program. Talking about the preservation of Indian culture, members of the BJP had a photo session wearing shoes and slippers near the statue of Mother Saraswati and the picture of the former President.

Moreover, controversy has arisen due to a photo session by BJP members wearing shoes in the program of teachers worshiping Saraswati. Although hundreds of teachers saw Saraswati Mata being insulted, not a single teacher could dare to ask the rulers to take off their shoes and stand beside Saraswati Mata, which is a shame for the education world as well.
