The Gujarat Nephrology Association has appealed to the government to bring a proper resolution to this issue

Vadodara : Patients get various facilities under PM-JAY , among which kidney patients get ‘Maa Card and ‘Ayushyaman Card’, totally free kidney dialysis three times in a week, but recently, Gujarat Nephrologist Association has protested against the drastic reduction in kidney dialysis charges by the central government. It has been decided not to dialysis any kidney patient from 14th to 16th August.

It is mentioning that, when both kidneys fail of a kidney patient, the patient has to undergo compulsory dialysis three times a week, until the patient’s kidney is transplanted, the patient has to undergo dialysis for life. It is done in a private hospital whether they have this PM-JAY facility.

Due to the huge reduction in the charge of the dialysis package, the situation is creating difficulties for the dialysis patients to undergo dialysis in this scheme. Hence Gujarat Nephrologist Association has stated that, no dialysis will be done under PM-JAY on August 14, 15 and 16 and for three days and if the package is not increased then the hospital will be forced to stop dialysis under this scheme.
