Ahmedabad: Navrangpura police in the city registered a case of daytime burglary amounting to Rs 9.25 lakh from a residential flat on Ishwar Bhuvan Road on Wednesday.
According to the police complaint filed by Nimesha Vandara (40), who resides at Surya Apartments opposite Ishwar Bhuvan Road, the incident occurred when her husband, Dharmendra Vandara, was at his workplace in Bhat, and she went to a jewellery shop in Satellite.
Nimesha stated that she left her house at about 2.30 pm on Tuesday to go to the Satellite area. Upon her return around 6.30 pm, she met her husband in the parking area. They discovered their house lock on the stairway, and upon reaching their flat, they noticed the interlock on their door was also damaged.
Upon entering their house, they discovered that both lockers in their bedroom cupboard were forced open. The FIR states that gold jewellery, silver ornaments, and Rs 70,000 in cash, collectively valued at Rs 9.25 lakh, were missing from the lockers.
Navrangpura police have initiated an investigation after registering a case of housebreaking and theft against unidentified individuals.
