Denied entry, three ‘drunk’ men vandalise city bus, cars | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: Three ‘drunk’ individuals vandalised a bus and a few cars after being refused entry into an Ahmedabad civic body-run bus in the CTM area of the city on Monday.
The incident occurred in the evening when the bus from Iskcon Circle to Vivekanand Nagar reached CTM.
At the CTM bus station, three individuals, suspected to be heavily intoxicated, attempted to board the bus. “But since they could not even stand properly, other passengers requested the driver and the conductor not to allow them inside. As a result, the driver closed the gates,” stated a bus passenger.
On being denied entry, the trio damaged the bus using stones and sticks. During their retreat, they also damaged passing vehicles. According to an anonymous passenger, the accused caused damage to the bus door and windows while passengers were inside.
The incident resulted in a heavy traffic jam stretching approximately half a kilometre.
Deputy commissioner of police Baldev Desai said, “The incident occurred at 6.50 pm in the CTM area when drunk persons boarded the bus, leading to an altercation with the driver and conductor. During the scuffle, the driver’s clutch was released, causing the bus to hit a car which was ahead of the bus. The rear glass of the car was damaged.”
Desai noted one of the suspects broke the bus window with his fist. Ramol police inspector S B Chaudhary, who arrived at the scene, registered the complaint.
