Ahmedabad: After completing four rounds of postgraduate medical admissions, several seats remained unfilled. Hence, a final admission round was announced on Wednesday. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has now reduced the NEET-PG qualifying percentile from the 25th to the 5th percentile to accommodate more candidates in postgraduate medical programmes.
The 4th round saw 973 students participating in choice filling, with all being allocated seats. However, 11 seats out of 88 remained vacant after the 4th round, which included seats in specialisations such as biochemistry, physiology, and anatomy at LG College, Surat, and NHL Medical College. Of the total 2,159 allocated seats, 1,788 were in the general quota, 309 in the management quota, 36 in the NRI quota, and 26 in the in-service quota.
