Ahmedabad: A major fire broke out late Wednesday night at a packaging warehouse belonging to the snack company ‘Rewind’, located in the Prem Darwaza area of the city. The warehouse, used for packaging peanuts and gram, was engulfed in flames, creating panic in the surrounding locality.
Upon receiving an emergency call around 2am, the fire control room immediately dispatched 18 fire tenders from Shahpur, Jamalpur, Panchkuva, and other stations. Due to the large stock of plastic and cardboard materials stored inside, the fire spread rapidly and turned severe.
Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly three hours before successfully bringing it under control. A cooling operation was carried out afterward to prevent the fire from reigniting.
So far, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. The fire department has not confirmed whether the warehouse had adequate fire safety equipment. Police teams also arrived at the scene and began assessing the extent of the damage.
Officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine the cause and evaluate the financial losses. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
