Surat : The number of patients complaining of diarrhea-vomiting and stomach pain along with fever has been increasing in Surat for a few days. The number of such patients is increasing day by day. Due to which patients are also dying due to this disease. In the last five days, five people, including three children, have died due to diarrhoea-vomiting, stomach pain and fever. Yesterday, a 2-year-old child living in Sachin area and a 28-year-old woman living in Goddara area died of diarrhoea-vomiting. Last Saturday, a 6-month-old child died in Sachin area after complaining of fever, a 5-year-old girl in Pandesara area died of diarrhea and vomiting and a 30-year-old man in Kanakpur area died after complaining of stomach pain.

A 2-year-old child died of diarrhea and vomiting in Surat’s Sachin GIDC. According to the information received from the New Civil Hospital, Jitan Paswan, a native of Bihar, is currently living with his family including 6 children in Tirumala Society in Sachin GIDC area. Jitan supports the family by working in a dyeing mill. Jitan’s youngest son Vishnu (2) started having diarrhea and vomiting on Tuesday night. So on Wednesday morning, the family took him to a private hospital in a rickshaw for treatment. After getting treatment from there, he was going home again with Vishnu. Meanwhile, he suddenly fainted on the way. So he was brought to New Civil Hospital for treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead. A married died of diarrhea in Godadara, Surat. Amit Paswan, originally from Uttar Pradesh and now living in Gopalnagar in Godadara area, lives with his wife Kalavati (28) and a son. Amit supports his family by doing packing work in the cloth market. Amit’s wife Kalavati had diarrhea on Tuesday night. So he was admitted to a private hospital for treatment through 108 ambulance. Kalavati’s health deteriorated further on Wednesday morning. So he was brought to Smeer Hospital for further treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

A 6-month-old child died of fever in Surat’s Sachin. According to the information received from the New Civil Hospital, Vimalesh Gupta, originally from Uttar Pradesh and currently living in Laxminagar in Sachin area, lives with his family including 3 children. Vimlesh supports the family by running a grocery shop. Among Vimlesh’s children, Virat (6 months) was suffering from fever for two days. So he was undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Maroli. Virat suddenly fainted at home around 1 pm on Saturday. So he was brought to New Civil Hospital for treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead. The area was surveyed. Pradeep Umrigar (Health Officer, Surat Municipality) said that following the death of men and women, including children, the area has been surveyed. Along with this water samples have also been taken. No further history is known as the family has moved back to their homeland. An investigation has been carried out by the municipal team where the death occurred in that area.
