Ahmedabad: A special anti-corruption bureau (ACB) court on Friday framed charges against former home minister and former chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy, Vipul Chaudhary, and its former office-bearers in connection with the financial irregularities in the dairy.
Additional sessions judge B K Avashia framed the charges for criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and corruption against Chaudhary, then chairperson Asha Thakor and managing director N J Bakshi for the alleged scam under the provisions of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act. The court did not frame the charges against the former vice-chairman of the dairy, Moghji Patel, because the Gujarat high court on Thursday stayed the trial court from doing so in his case until March 13, said special prosecutor in this case, Vijay Barot.
According to the FIR, in 2013, Chaudhary sent cattle feed worth Rs 22.5 crore to Maharashtra and caused financial loss to the dairy by not following the prescribed procedure.
