Surat : The crime branch has arrested the former sarpanch of Vesu gam in Surat city. Vesu’s former sarpanch Navin Patel, along with a land broker, made a bogus will of a dead old woman and sold the land. Jaishree Intwala, the wife of the land buyer, filed a complaint in the crime branch and the police registered a case of cheating against former sarpanch Navin Patel of Vesu and land broker Puna Mer and arrested them. Earlier, Naveen was arrested in Umra police in attempted murder, assault on a government employee, land theft in Athwa police and gambling in Dumas.

In the year 2003, the husband of Jayashree Intwala, who lives in Athawalines Adarsh Society of Surat, introduced Dhiru Hastak land broker Puna Mer and the then Sarpanch of Vesugam Naveen Patel to buy land in Vesu. The woman’s husband decided the deal and asked the Puna Mer for the papers, in which Somi, the original owner of the land stated that on 12-12-2003 the will was written in favor of Puna Mer, in which it is mentioned in the Will that Puna Mer like my son has been appointed as the heir. In the year 2020, Jayashree’s husband Narendra Intwala passed away. In the land purchased by the husband, the widow went to enter the name in the sample-6 right sheet of the village, where the Mamlatdar of E-Dhara Center gave a raw note in the year 2005. However, an irrevocable general power of attorney is subject to stamp duty. According to Talati’s report, it was revealed that Somi, the land owner who provided the power, had died 25 years ago. Hence the circle officer rejected the raw note as the document was suspicious.

Crime Branch Lalit Wagdia said that, Bharat Laxman identified Somi’s thumb in the bogus veil. While the signatures of Navin C Patel and Lakshman Kanji are as witnesses.
