15 museums in state; six new being set up
There are 15 museums in Gujarat and six new museums are being set up, said the state govt in the assembly on Wednesday. In reply to a question during question hour, cultural affairs minister Mulu Bera said that a sum of Rs 39 crore was allotted in the budget for 2025-26 for the renovation of museums at Junagadh, Saputara, Patan and Bardoli, and all other museums will be upgraded in a phased manner.
10 HMPV cases in a year, no deaths: Minister
State health minister Rushikesh Patel, replying to a question in the assembly on Wednesday, said that 10 cases of human metapneumovirus (HMPV) were registered in the state during the past year, and there were no HMPV-related deaths during the period. In response to a question by Congress MLA Imran Khedawala, the minister said that HMPV patients are given symptomatic treatment and the govt has issued guidelines as well.
Rs 170 crore spent on Vadnagar projects in 2 years
The state govt spent a sum of Rs 170.36 crore on various projects at the archaeological site of Vadnagar in Mehsana district in two years. In response to a question by MLA Sardar Chaudhary, the govt said that Rs 158.02 crore was spent on the archaeological experience museum, Rs 9.24 crore was spent on the music museum and Rs 3.1 crore was spent as part of the Vadnagar research MoU. The archaeological experience museum is being set up in association with the Union govt, the govt replied in a written statement.
Installed solar energy capacity at 16,795MW
State energy minister Kanu Desai informed the assembly that the installed solar power capacity of Gujarat stands at 16,795MW. In response to a question by MLA Arjun Modhwadia, the minister said that installed solar energy capacity increased by 2,116.26MW in 2023 and 6,104.75MW in 2024. The minister said that by 2030, the installed solar power capacity is expected to be 68,178MW.
