Gandhinagar: The Gujarat assembly committee for the welfare of socially and educationally backward classes recently released its 2024-25 report. Published on the assembly secretariat’s website on Thursday, the report reveals that the govt has accepted most of the committee’s recommendations. However, some suggestions were rejected, and others are still awaiting a final decision. The committee made several important suggestions. The panel recommended that reservation provisions be strictly followed during recruitment to Gujarat Maritime Board. This is to ensure that candidates from socially and educationally backward classes benefit from reserved positions. The committee also raised concerns about possible irregularities in the process of appointing personnel through the outsourcing method in the industries and mines department. “A strict monitoring system must be put in place to prevent irregularities and exploitation in the recruitment system,” the committee noted.Commenting on the services of the state health department, the committee said that in some cases, technical glitches in the services of hospitals halt work and, in such cases, initial treatment should be started in hospitals.
