In Gujarat, cases are now transferred to virtual traffic courts after 90 days of sending the e-memo. So far, about 70 thousand cases have come in the e-court in this procedure which started from last May 3, in which 41,722 cases have been proceeded.
While 1427 people have already paid the fine before the court proceedings. Not only this, during this period, the state has so far accumulated a fine of 9 lakhs.
A virtual traffic court has been launched at Metropolitan Court of A’bad for e-memo of traffic from May 3. One Nation One Challan project has been coordinated with the challan of traffic police RTOs in the state. Under the guidance of the Supreme Court, virtual traffic courts have been launched for the entire state of Gujarat under the auspices of the e-court project.
E-challan integrated in 3 major cities of the state
Currently, e-challans of A’bad, Surat and Rajkot cities have been integrated. A total of 64,340 traffic cases from Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot have come up in the court till May 31 since this court started. Out of which 37,922 proceedings have been done, and 1244 people have paid the fine online. 7,73,200 rupees have been recovered under this penalty.
Furthermore, if the fine is not paid after 90 days, it is sent to the traffic court. It is mentioned that, if traffic and RTO e-challan fine amount is not paid within 90 days then after that time period e-challan is automatically sent to virtual traffic court server.
In these cases, a notice is sent to the vehicle owner and an SMS is sent to the mobile phone. This SMS also contains a link to pay fine online. If the fine payer objects to the amount of the fine, the case will be referred to the court of that city for trial.
E-Challan has to be filled with SBI e-Payment
Payment of this e-challan is linked to SBI e-payment gateway, in which fine can be paid through credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking etc.
E-memo coming in Ahmedabad for violation of 3 rules, now 16 rules
Earlier in Ahmedabad city, only those who violated 3 traffic rules received e-memos. Now e-memos will be sent home to motorists in Ahmedabad city for violating as many as 16 different traffic rules. For this, around 6500 CCTV cameras have been installed at 130 traffic signals in the city.
It is noteworthy that, the signals which were closed earlier in Ahmedabad East have also been started now. Rickshaws in Ahmedabad will have more passengers than usual, passengers will be sitting on the driver’s seat in the rickshaw, drive in the BRTS corridor, black glass or dark film will be installed in the four wheeler, if you are talking on the mobile phone while driving, then the e-memo will come to your home.
