Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Examination Board conducted the Chief Minister Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Exam on Saturday. A total of 6.12 lakh students registered for the exam across the state, out of which 4.82 lakh students were present, marking an attendance rate of 78.74%. About 1.30 lakh students remained absent. The exam was open to students who studied from Class 1 to 8 in govt or granted schools, or under RTE in private schools. For the first time, the merit from this exam will also be used for admissions into Class 9 in 74 Adarsh Residential Schools managed by the tribal development department.
