Modern Indian restaurant Jamavar Dubai has got its first Michelin star within the first year of its opening.
The brainchild of restaurateur Samyukta Nair and culinary director, chef Surender Mohan, it was awarded the prestigious star at the 2025 MICHELIN Guide Dubai.
With more Indian cuisine restaurants getting recognised in the world, this is another addition, apart from Tresind Studio, which also won not one but three Michelin stars, making it the first of its kind, at the ceremony held this week.
Following in the footsteps of its Michelin-recognised locations in London and Doha, awarded in 2022 and 2024 respectively, the latest honour showcases Jamavar’s evolution with its tribute to Indian heritage.
Co-founded by Samyukta and Dinesh Nair under the banner of LSL Capital, Jamavar aims to celebrate Indian dining in the middle east. Located within the Address Residences in Dubai’s Opera District, the restaurant aspires the spirit of the Indian subcontinent to the heart of Downtown.
Inspired by treasured Nair family recipes and lineage in Indian hospitality, the kitchen is under the guidance of chef Mohan and celebrates the diversity of Indian cuisine, drawing inspiration from the regal kitchens of the North to the spice-laden coasts of the South.
Through a refined lens, Jamavar reimagines traditional recipes using authentic cooking techniques, executed by executive head chef Purushottam Naidu, to offer a sophisticated exploration of pan-Indian flavours.
