Japan’s bathing macaques draw record tourists

Each winter, hundreds of thousands of tourists visit to see the spectacle of Japan’s snow monkeys bathing in the hot springs of Jigokudani Park. With the rise in footfall of tourists, the monkeys have become the region’s biggest attraction, raising concerns for their welfare.
