How to vote in Kentucky?
In Kentucky, early voting options are available, in case you want to avoid long queues. You can vote in person on Thursday (Oct 31), Friday (Nov 1) and Saturday (Nov 2).
You need to have a photo ID to cast your vote in Kentucky. It means IDs like driver’s license, ID card, US passport, US military ID, Kentucky National Guard ID, any city or county government-issued photo ID and photo ID issued by a public or private college or professional school located within the US will be acceptable.
What’s on the ballot in Kentucky?
There are two major amendments on the ballot.
The first one is for stopping non-citizens from voting: The amendment seeks to bar non-citizens of the US from voting in US elections.
The second one concerns school voucher/choice: It concerns private and public school choice.
4th Congressional District
Polls are due in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District as well, which has been held by Thomas Massie (R) since 2012. He is running unopposed and is poised to win. The district includes counties like Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton.
How Kentucky voted in previous presidential elections
Kentucky has predominantly been a Republican state. In 2020, the state voted in favour of Donald Trump 62.1 per cent against Joe Biden by a margin of 25.9-point, the eight-biggest. In 2016, Trump received 62.5 per cent support, against Hillary Clinton’s 32.7 per cent.
