Loan denied, businessman attacks bank executive | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: A customer attacked a bank executive at a public sector bank in the Rampura area of Detroj taluka in Ahmedabad district, after his loan application was rejected.
The complaint was filed by a 35-year-old bank employee from Chandkheda. He told police that a 35-year-old businessman had applied for a loan to set up a dairy farm. The complainant said he was at the bank on Wednesday when the 35-year-old came to inquire about his loan application, which was related to raising livestock. Following a site inspection, the businessman was given a written notice stating that his loan application had been rejected.
Angered by the decision, the businessman stormed the bank and asked the employee why his application had been rejected. “I explained to him that his GST quotation was not available. Also, an assessment of his house and establishment led the bank to believe he was not eligible for the loan. So, the application was rejected,” the employee told the police.
The complainant told police that this angered the businessman further, first struck the computer monitor, damaging it, and then hit the ultraviolet machine. “He then approached me and began abusing me. He hit me with a stick before kicking me, saying: ‘You rejected my loan application. I won’t let you live today,'” the employee stated in the FIR.
The complainant stated that after receiving initial treatment at Detroj CHC, he went to the Detroj police station and filed the complaint.
Detroj police have registered a case against the customer under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt; 121(1) for voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter a public servant from his duty; 351(2) for criminal intimidation; 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace; and 324(2) for mischief.
