The municipality will spend 2 crores on planning, notification for registration of diamond and textile workers
Surat: The Standing Committee, which has instructed the municipality to engage large numbers of people on the 21st Yoga Day, approved spending up to Rs 2 crore for the Athwa zone, in which the work from registration, red-green carpet, sound system lighting to branding has been assigned. The system is gearing up to set a Guinness record by making 2 lakh people do yoga together at the Y junction.
Further, for this, the diamond-clothing industry owners have also been instructed to send their employees in large numbers. Similarly, to bring in more workers, diamond units, from manufacturers to textile traders have been instructed to get registered.
GIDC manufacturers-association activated
