According to Bopal police, the victim’s mother, a 40-year-old woman employed at a private company, divorced her first husband and later married the accused. The family lived in Ambawadi before moving to Shela. The mother noticed changes in her daughter’s behaviour and questioned her.
The girl alleged that the accused had been abusing her since she was eight years old. She stated that he showed her inappropriate videos and threatened to reveal private recordings if she told anyone. The mother also saw the accused leaving the girl’s room late at night multiple times, the complaint states.
After learning about the incident, the woman filed a complaint at Bopal police station. Police arrested the accused and charged him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act. Further investigation is ongoing.
