Ahmedabad: The L Division traffic police on Friday filed a complaint against a 42-year-old man from Chandkheda after his minor son caused an accident while driving a two-wheeler without a driving licence (DL).The incident occurred on March 17 near the Godrej Garden City crossroads.The vehicle, driven by the 17-year-old boy, collided with another two-wheeler being driven by a 42-year-old man. The minor’s vehicle hit him from the front, resulting in injuries to his head and body.An investigation revealed that the vehicle involved was registered under the name of the boy’s father. The minor did not possess a driving licence. The boy admitted during questioning that he was not authorised to drive and was given the vehicle by his father.Based on this, L Division traffic police filed a case under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicle Act. The father of the minor was booked under section 199 (a) of the BNS Act for allowing a minor to operate a vehicle without a licence.The injured person was hospitalised for treatment.
