Ahmedabad: Acting on a tip-off Kagdapith police arrested Amitkumar Jain (35), a resident of Surat, and recovered 176 ATM cards from him.
The accused has a case registered against him with the Cybercrime police.
Kagdapith police inspector S A Gohil said the accused used to enter ATM kiosks to take ATM cards of customers on the sly. “Trying different PINs, he would then withdraw money,” said Gohil. “He used to steal personal data of people from social media platforms to try possible PINs for the stolen cards,” Gohil added.
“The case in which he was arrested had the ATM PIN ‘1111′ and Jain succeeded in withdrawing money,” said the PI.
