Metro to run till 12.30am on IPL match days | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: The metro services in Ahmedabad city, from Motera stadium to APMC, and from Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam, will be operational until 12.30am in view of the IPL matches, according to a senior metro services official.
“In view of the matches to be played at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium on March 25, 29, April 9, May 2, and May 14, the metro operations will continue from 6.20am to 12.30am on these dates. However, the services to Gandhinagar will end at the routine timings at about 10pm,” the official said.
To ensure convenient travel, GMRC has introduced special paper tickets for return journeys on IPL match days, said the official. A flat fare of Rs 50 per person for travel from Motera Stadium and Sabarmati stations to any operational Ahmedabad metro stations during extended hours will be issued.
The official said that regular fare options, including smart tokens, GMRC travel card, NCMC card, and QR tickets, can be used until 10pm only, and thereafter only special paper tickets will be accepted.
The special paper tickets will be available in advance at Nirant Crossroads, Apparel Park, Kalupur, Old High Court, Thaltej, Motera, Sabarmati, Ranip, Vadaj, and Jivraj metro stations. The officials said that the trains will run every 8 minutes throughout the day. During extended hours from 10pm, the frequency will increase to every 6 minutes from Motera and Sabarmati stations.
