Two things are hogging all the limelight in the United States these days – Donald Trump’s election win and aliens. The director of the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) testified in front of the United States Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities on Tuesday (Nov 19).
This comes after it released a report saying more than 20 unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) incidents reported in the past year have no explanation. A day before that, the US House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Accountability heard former officials on the matter, who claimed the US government has hid evidence of extraterrestrial visitors and other-worldly objects for years.
Jon T. Kosloski strongly asserted that the division, created in July 2022, has “not discovered any verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity or technology”.
However, he admitted that there have been reports of “some very anomalous objects” and the department does not believe that every UAP is a bird, balloon or drone.
“Many reports resolve to commonplace objects like birds, balloons and unmanned systems, while others lack sufficient data for comprehensive analysis,” Kosloski said.
He added that “only a small percentage of reports received by AARO are potentially anomalous.”
Last week’s hearing had a retired US Navy rear admiral and a former US counterintelligence officer saying that the cover-up of aliens has been going on for decades and “we are not alone in the cosmos.”
Strange Bermuda Triangle UFO incident
In 2013 near Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, an incident occurred where an object flying above the ocean disappeared into it. An infrared video of the anomaly was shot by a US Customs and Border Patrol helicopter. The object, moving at great speed, splashes into the water and then re-emerges, having split into two.
This incident happened near the Bermuda Triangle and baffled experts who study UFOs.
Kosloski spoke about that incident in the hearing, trying to clear the air around it. He said that even though it seems like it went underwater, what actually happened was that “the object appears to disappear in the infrared video”.
“It was actually flying over the airport the entire time,” he said, adding, “it is actually the camera sensing that the object is the same temperature as the water behind it.”
He said it did not split, but there were simply two objects — balloons or sky lanterns.
In 2018, a drone captured a video of an object flying over Mt. Etna, an incident he said is not known among the public. “This was a rather difficult case to solve,” Kosloski said. “The object was actually 170 meters away from the plume — not flying through it.”
